A right to have fun

being away

it was great to be out of the city, to breathe, to see other things besides buildings. it was great to drive around with him in the searing heat, sticking to the car and drinking cold water out of bottles and watching the trees rush past.

it was so nice to see places I had never been before. (feel like dannii minogue)

huge ancient monuments and places kings and queens had lived in, breathed in, eaten in. remnants of tapestries, the colours all faded, clinging to the walls. huge oak chests and tables that could never be moved, they are just part of the room.

and the passage of time, beating at the walls and chipping away at the gargoyles.

it was nice to wander there, and to see family, even if it wasn't really my family.
