A right to have fun

everything is annoying at the moment! It might be the heat, it might be dissatisfaction.

But..

The sky this morning is beautiful, all streaked with herring-bone clouds and underneath it is deep blue. The city still looks half asleep despite the fact it is mid-morning. I can see a plume of steam rising up from a factory chimney that looks like someone put a cigar down carefully on its end. The edge of the horizon turns the buildings all dreamy-grey and they fade out into what looks like hills. It might be hills - you really can see a long way this morning from up here.

And then the sunlight is catching one side of the buildings near me. It is ugly; these tall buildings are ugly and especially in rats nests of tower blocks and projects, but there's a glassed-in swimming-pool and other interesting things to look at - a few murals on walls and a tiny park in the middle of the scrub, and a really interesting roof that looks like a japanese temple.

and there is the river, which looks like it is still asleep this morning. A late riser!

But the boats are chugging up it tickling its back and waking it up like the rest of us.
