old things and the future

cold today outside. it was nice over the weekend though and we spent some time outside walking around and looking at antique shops but not going in.. So many old things. It always makes me wonder what people will think of the things we use now, and whether any of them will actually last (plastic phones that break easily, throwaway consumables..)

I always wonder what future civilisations might make of Mt Rushmore too: 'who are these people, maybe deities of some kind? They obviously represent something important, but what?'
