almost caught!

In haste - how funny is this?

I was just trying to write a poem following an online poem-writing masterclass technique thing. Not that I generally have any trouble writing poetry, it was just an extra experiment.
Anyway, my colleague leaned over and said 'are you writing poetry again?'
I said 'yes' because I was - and honesty is the best policy!
So he said 'I thought you were,' and wandered off, thinking that he was being funny. He had no idea I really was writing poetry.
Whereas if I'd lied and tried to cover it up, he'd probably have looked closer and discovered that I was in fact writing poetry during work hours.
Huh. A lesson to be learned there, I feel.
